About
the Italian Way
The Italian Way, established in 1985, is a family-run traditional Italian restaurant, located in the heart of Cardiff. A short walk from the city centre and the iconic Millenium Stadium and Cardiff Castle.
a visit to the Italian way is the perfect way to end a busy day’s shopping, to celebrate a special occasion with friends or to enjoy the delicious tastes of Italy in the Welsh capital.
Our history
The owner of the Italian Way, Giuseppe Ranalli has been in the catering business for over 50 years. From the Abbruzzo region of Italy, he left home at the tender age of thirteen to follow his older brother Antonio to a hotel in Rome where he worked as a kitchen porter.
Giuseppe later gained more knowledge and experience travelling and working in restaurants and hotels in Venice, Lake Maggiore, Switzerland and Jersey where he met his wife Ann. They later had a son, Alfonso, and a daughter, Lena, who today run and cook at the Italian Way.
